Trash to Treasure

This is what the lampshade in our living room has looked like for .. uh... a year or so (more).  Honestly this lamp is the only piece of furniture that I liked from my husband's bachelor days. It is also the only remaining piece. Now sure how that happened??  It is a floor lamp but I didn't take any pictures of the bottom because that requires cleaning.

well, hello there... no don't worry.. I'm not taking pictures

Agh! It's a turkey.. hurry.. get the gun...

Sorry, back to where I was.

I knew I needed to replace this lampshade and I wanted a drum shade. But I couldn't find a drum shade to fit it since that size was always sold out. I finally found a really flimsy one at target for $15 but in my house.. flimsy doesn't cut it. The kids will be using the lampshade as a hat or rocket launcher before the end of the week.

So off I went to my trusty old Goodwill and I found treasure.
I know you're probably thinking I broke the bank on this baby.  No, it's not a drum shade like I was hoping but it's the right size, sturdy as a horse, and was within my price range.  (My price range being under $1).

I know you're drooling over that lovely stain and wishing you would have found this beauty first. I know it.

The sad thing is that Damion really was impressed with the lampshade as it was. ugh. men.

So with a quick trip to Hancock Fabric, because the decor fabric was 40% off, I became the owner of a beautifully remodeled lampshade.

Hands off my lampshade sister, I see you eyein' it.

It's not for sale. Well, maybe..

I spent an entire 5$ on this but I'll sale it for $40.
