I've been in a funk lately. I've lost some joy along the way. Damion's been working long hours which is fine, it's only for a season.. but it's making long days for me sometimes.  So I wrote the blog below tonight when I was just searching for something.. anything... but now I'm coming back to add something that brought back a little joy to me this week.

Damion called yesterday to tell me that once again he was running late and wouldn't be home until 7. I commented that I had asked him earlier in the day if we could go to the park after dinner but not to worry about it, that it doesn't really matter. Obviously we wouldn't be able to go now that he was running so late.

The conversation went on and out of nowhere he interrupted and said,

"no.. you know what.. it does matter.. and I'm sorry".

For those of you who don't know.. we had a horrible first year of marriage.. the word divorce was thrown out there on more than one occasion but we held on with God's help.

Now I have this awesome man who thinks of me and is gracious enough to realize that sometimes the small things really do matter.

I'm going to find that joy again because 6 years ago.. I found the reason to be married again and look what that has brought me.

Today I bought more produce at the dollar store than I have ever bought at the grocery store.

I hurt my right arm on Monday when I stuck it in the dryer while it was still on. It hurts today. I have never claimed to be a genius... OK.. well maybe a few times.

Princess Newbie is making chomping sounds while eating now. It's hilarious.

I met Damion online but I didn't tell my dad that until our rehearsal dinner. ha ha. sorry dad.

I'm drooling watching Top Chef Desserts.

Damion and I have known each other for nine years and I still like him.

I love him.
