Six Years and Counting

November 8th, 2003

His Royal Highness,

You told me not to buy you a gift or even a card, just a nice note would do it. So here is your note.

You are my best friend, the one that I can't wait to see in the afternoons after work. When something big happens, you're the one I want to share it with. You knew every single part of my past, even the worst parts, and you chose a future with me. That means the world to me.

Even with all my quirks, you still adore me. You overlook the mess that surrounds my creativity and that allows me to fully let the creative juices flow (sometimes onto the floor or counter, but still!).  The pride that you take in my crafts and cakes show me that I'm on the right path in my life.

You have given me three beautiful girls and completed my dream of being a mother. You are one of the best father's I've ever seen. I love the fact that the girls love Star Wars just because you do too.

I can't wait for the next six, followed by hopefully sixty years. I'm so blessed to have you walking this journey with me, even though you are always five steps ahead of me because you walk too fast! and I walk too slow!

I love you and know that God made you for me.

Happy Anniversary,

Your Queen

Thank you for your creative ways of telling me (and the girls) how much you love me (us). At first in our marriage we had a lot of problems and it did not appear that it was going to last even another month. I give you most of the credit for the fact that we have lasted 6 years. You stuck with our marriage when most people are looking for a way out. I think one moment that really sticks out to me is when my mom came down to see us and we had been fighting. You left the house and slammed the door on the way out. A few moments you returned with some baby birds in your hands and told me you felt if you left they would end up dying. (I seem to remember they had fallen from our Oak Tree.) So you stayed instead of driving 4 hours to your mom's house in Longview. I think you take care of me and the girls just like that putting your own personal agenda on the self instead. Thank you so very much and I love you and the family we have made. Til Death do us part.

awesome, sounds like god used two lil baby birds, to help out two lil newly wed Byrds.. I love God's lil symbols in life to teach us things.. Pretty cool that God can use his creatures to teach the Humans how to love and cherish one another...Congrats to Both of you... Love you much!!!
